Tony Mauriello is a senior counsel in Strategy Law's corporate and securities law practice. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mauriello worked at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in New York City, Latham & Watkins in San Diego, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in San Diego, and then as a General Counsel in several Silicon Valley-based tech companies.
Mr. Mauriello’s practice covers a broad range of general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, counseling public and privately-held companies regarding disclosure and reporting requirements, technology licensing, equity incentives, employee compensation and benefits and the formation of new businesses. Mr. Mauriello also represents clients in a broad range of transactional matters, including public and private company mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnering and licensing transactions, spin-offs and venture capital financings. He is counsel to private and public companies in a broad range of industries, with a focus on the life sciences, high-technology, telecommunications, biotechnology and medical products industries.
Mr. Mauriello has an established track record of guiding emerging growth companies from incorporation and early stage financings through strategic exits such as initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
He routinely advises public companies with respect to securities laws and SEC reporting obligations, disclosure issues and corporate governance matters.
Mr. Mauriello earned his Juris Doctorate from Duke University and his B.S. in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. In his spare time, Mr. Mauriello is an adjunct professor of law at the University of San Diego School of Law where he teaches corporate transactions and corporations. He is a proud father, husband, ex-newspaper delivery boy of the Boston Globe, athlete (hockey is his best sport), and a former member of the illustrious Toys R Us team as Geoffrey's Helper (sadly, Mr. Mauriello had to retire from this position at the age of 16. He is also a lululemon ambassador and yoga practitioner.
